TARGET AUDIENCE - Target audiences for this program are Specialty Pharmacists, Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, Specialty Pharmacy executives, Pharmacy Directors, Chief Pharmacy Officers, Infectious Disease Pharmacists, Infectious Disease Nurses, Infusion Nurses and Nurses

LEARNING OBJECTIVES - After completing the program, Specialty Pharmacists, Pharmacists, Clinical Pharmacists, Specialty Pharmacy executives, Pharmacy Directors, Chief Pharmacy Officers, Infectious Disease Pharmacists, Infectious Disease Nurses, Infusion Nurses and Nurses

  1. Describe the epidemiology and immunopathogenesis of HIV
  2. Identify methods of HIV transmission and evidence-based strategies for HIV prevention
  3. Recognize individuals at increased risk for HIV infection
  4. Recall signs and symptoms associated with HIV and its progression
  5. Discuss guidelines and methods for screening and diagnosis of HIV
  6. List classes of antiretroviral agents and their benefits and limitations
  7. Describe the importance of treatment adherence in HIV and strategies to improve outcomes

Specialty Pharma Education Center (SPEC) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. This program is approved for 1.5 hours (0.15CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credit. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the post-test. Participants must participate in the entire presentation and complete the course evaluation to receive continuing pharmacy education credit.
